Schola Basilicae is an early music ensemble of skilled volunteer singers who enthusiastically enjoy the Sacred Music of the Renaissance. The group offers free quasi-concerts in the form of Meditational hours that present a diverse array of seasonal sacred music in the beautiful Neo-Gothic atmosphere of our historic Basilica. Schola Basilicae's  offerings are exclusively sacred music of the Masters, primarily of the Renaissance time period although they occasionally stray into later centuries. Their rehearsal schedule is biweekly and Meditative Concert singing engagements are bi-monthly.  During Holy Week, Schola Basilicae joins the Basilica's main choirs to bring to the solemnities, a selection of sacred polyphony such as motets by Byrd and Tallis and the iconic Miserere by Allegri.
