Bruce Wilson is a faith-centered person offering a career background in diplomacy, not-for-profit development, planning and economic development to our Parish Council. His work has involved him in boards and councils as a member. He represented Canada and Ontario abroad as well as trade groups. Bruce hopes to give back in thanksgiving for over ten years of spiritual support from Saint Patrick's masses, Divine Mercy Cenacles (150 meetings), KofC, refugee support, lectures, good books about faith, and friendships.
As a member of Saint Patrick's Basilica Pastoral Council, he would contribute to the magnificent work of our parish in reminding us all of Christ's mercy and in presenting the richness of our Catholic faith. Saint Patrick's is remarkable in giving access to Christ through its many masses, confessions, orthodoxy, ideas, special devotions, Latin, community, personal support, formation, city center witness, music, art and still much more. The Pastoral Council can help sustain this.
Our Pope Francis asks us to evangelize. Using his background in public policy, Bruce could help interested parishioners examine big social questions of our times and find ways to deliver the answers of Christ and the magisterium. He sees Pope Francis' recent Evangelii Gaudium as an excellent framework and guide for such work. Perhaps this may have us using new technologies, inviting leading thinkers to lecture, being out in the community more often, and encouraging discussion and writers.
