I am a practising Catholic who goes to confession once a week and tries to go to Mass every day. I have been a parishioner at Saint Patrick’s since I was in high school. My husband and I were married at Saint Patrick’s Basilica in 2002. We have eight children (aged 3 to 13); seven were baptized at Saint Patrick’s and one had his funeral mass celebrated at Saint Patrick’s Basilica in 2008.
Our two sons (aged 13 and 10) are altar boys at Saint Patrick’s and one of our daughters sings in the choir. Six of our children attend an independent Catholic school, Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel.
I would hope to offer the PPC discernment based on the loyalty to the magisterium of the Church and a strong apostolic heart. I am also a freelance English-French-Spanish interpreter who can communicate with a plethora of parishioners.
I think the priorities that should be important for the PPC are:
Catechizing Catholics (workshops, conferences, expanding the lending library),
Apostolate (outreach to non-Catholics and lapsed Catholics),
Catholic formation/education of families,
Fostering and nurturing vocations to marriage, the priesthood and single religious life,
Protecting, encouraging and supporting marriage and the family.
