We invite you to light the sanctuary candle.
Within our Basilica there are all kinds of signs. The windows, paintings, statues, and altar all point to something greater than themselves. Hanging in the sanctuary, near the tabernacle reserving the Blessed Sacrament, there burns a steady flame always communicating that Jesus Christ—body, blood, soul, and divinity—dwells here. The flickering flame represents the burning love which gave us such a sacrament. With a simple, faithful flame it proclaims Christ to those who look for His presence, whether during a visit or during Mass, or when in desperate need of the consolation of Christ’s presence.
Would you like to light the sanctuary lamp in memory of a loved one or for a particular intention?
The lamps can be sponsored for a minimum recommended donation of $25 (using e transfer).
A weekly list of sponsors is published on this section of the website.
